The founder, and CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, has written a 6,500-word note on his wall. The note has been titled as the mission statement of Facebook.
Mark Zuckerberg, in his post, described the changes that Facebook brought over the years. While comparing emergence of television with social media, he wrote,
Just as TV became the primary medium for civic communication in the 1960s, social media is becoming this in the 21st century.
He talked about how Facebook has worked in connecting people all across the globe and how, building global communities can help the world to develop and progress.
The amazing moment for Indians came when Mark Zuckerberg included PM Modi’s name in his post and cited his government’s example to explain how social media network can“establish direct dialogue and accountability between people and our elected leaders.”
This is what he wrote about PM Modi and his government:
Beyond voting, the greatest opportunity is helping people stay engaged with the issues that matter to them every day, not just every few years at the ballot box. We can help establish direct dialogue and accountability between people and our elected leaders. In India, Prime Minister Modi has asked his ministers to share their meetings and information on Facebook so they can hear direct feedback from citizens.
It’s a proud moment for every Indian, as PM Modi has made India popular globally. He is taking our nation to greater heights.
