After Zomato Delivered Chicken Biryani Without Chicken, Here’s How Its Customer Care Responded

India’s food-delivery startup Zomato is growing multi-fold in the Indian market. The firm has claimed to have scored the 21 million monthly order run rate in India in September, 2018. During this period the firm has seen its order volume touching 700,000 mark each day of the week. Data released by Zomato for 2018 shows that Indians are very fond of chicken biryani, as they made it the most ordered and picked up dish through the app last year.

When it comes to placing the most number of orders, Ahmedabad topped the charts (among Tier II and III cities). In the Tier I category, Delhi/NCR took the lead. Apart from having a fabulous year, the company now has a presence in 118 cities.




Now coming to the point, recently a person ordered a chicken biryani on the food delivery app, but allegedly received his biryani without chicken. Soon, he took the issue to social media platform Reddit to share his issue. The user was contacted by Zomato’s Customer Care which told him that he will get Rs 18 in his Zomato Wallet as an apology. Recently, a video went viral on the social media that showed the Zomato man eating the customer’s food without any regret, repacking it, sealing it and then opening another pack to eat. The video shocked everyone and questions were raised on the credibility of Zomato.

Prior to this, in a hilarious conversation, 27-year-old social media influencer and creator Bhagyashree Singh complained of flies in the food she received.



The Zomato customer care executive in his response said, ““I have updated the same to the restaurant, they will add an extra topping of dead roasted house fly in your biryani.”
