It’s World Cancer Day and Yuvraj Singh is one of the most befitting examples of not just being a cancer survivor but being someone who won it over.
Playing for Team India since 2000, by 2011 World Cup Yuvraj Singh had become a name to reckon. This was also a time when first signs of cancer started showing up for him but he ignored his detected tumor in greed of having to lose the opportunity to play for Team India.
Soon, however, he had to face all that he was running from as his tumor grew bigger and bigger by every day.
He flew America for his chemotherapy and along with it started getting Ayurvedic treatment and rehabilitation. He looked up to people like Lance Armstrong who went through the same fate yet emerged as winners. Yuvi motivated himself every day as he read Lance Armstrong’s biography and put his faith in the right place.
And so he survived the battle against cancer and by 2012 made a comeback with 20-20 against New Zealand in September.
Till date, Yuvi’s game has been strong as he reaches new heights of innings. Recently he made a record-breaking run of 150 in 127 balls against England in ODI and easily became the man of the match as the entire country stood in pride.

And with that, Yuvi has started another inning of his life. In December last year, he has tied the knot with Hazel Keech in a four-day long grand affair.
Hazel is all love and pride for the man who has shown the difference between surviving cancer and beating it.

"Fierce" should be his middle name. 150 runs from 127 balls, Man of the Match, India won 2-0 against England in ODIs. Not forgetting coming back from CANCER, getting his health and fitness back post chemo therapy and finally being in the ODI team after all of that. Throw in a wedding somewhere. That, ladies and gentleman, it what it looks like to never give up. Theres the difference in surviving cancer and beating cancer #doitagain #takeyourlifeback #YuvrajFierceSingh #hero #ywc @yuvisofficial
Thanks Yuvi for being the inspiration to all as you show the light to the ones caught in the darkness of cancer.
