The situation in Jammu and Kashmir has been alarming ever since we know. In recent course of events, a CRPF vehicle ran over three Kashmiri youth in Srinagar’s Nowhatta area. In an attempt to get away from the protesters who were throwing stones at them, the CRPF vehicle unintentionally ran over three people, one out of whom succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. This incident that took place in Srinagar triggered a fresh new wave of criticism and outrage by the Kashmiris against the government.
Kashmiris had filed two FIRs, one against the CRPF and the other against the unidentified stone throwers in the region. People took to it their social media accounts to express their discontent and grief on the matter.
Take a look at some of the responses:
The images of a man being run over by a CRPF gypsy are haunting. The gypsy was attacked – that’s a fact – yes. However, it’s a failure of the local police in the area to have allowed a CRPF gypsy to pass through an almost 200 strong hostile crowd. Extremely unfortunate.

These pictures from #Srinagar downtown are very disturbing. This is horrible way to quell a protest. Government and #CRPF must explain. Is it the new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). Hope they survive. Pic courtesy #KashmirJournalistsHub pic.twitter.com/WrZ0ENgZbX

Earlier they tied people to the fronts of jeeps & paraded them around villages to deter protestors now they just drive their jeeps right over protestors. Is this your new SOP @MehboobaMufti sahiba? Ceasefire means no guns so use jeeps? https://t.co/42W6vGAPVi

Expressing her anger against the act of CRPF officials, the former Vice-President of Jawaharlal University, Shehla Rashid tweeted in a sarcastic manner against the Indian military forces. She had this to say:
Shameful! Running people over seems to be the latest anti-insurgency measure in J&K. This will certainly win hearts. https://t.co/G9kWmpSCR1

Incidentally, the award-winning Indian wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt slammed the Shehla Rashid by posting a rather nationalist statement on his Twitter account.
The wrestler posted a message on his Twitter account replying to Shehla’s tweet on CRPF vehicle ploughing the three Kashmiri youth. In his tweet Yogeshwar Dutt said, “What wrong did the CRPF do if they used ‘Jeep’ against the ‘stone-throwers’.”
Here’s the tweet!
