Bollywood is undergoing a major shift as far as new concepts, scripts and themes are concerned. More veteran actors are willing to be part of this paradigm shift by signing the dotted line. Many successful actresses are today breaking norms by working as full-time mothers and opting to work with younger actors. Remember when Aishwarya Rai Bachchan seduced poster boy Ranbir Kapoor in ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’? Or when Kareena Kapoor Khan was paired opposite Arjun Kapoor in ‘Ki & Ka’? Now, yesteryear actress Kajol has joined the league of this shift as well!
Kajol is making her comeback after a gap of three years with ‘Helicopter Eela’. The 44-year-old actress was last seen in ‘Dilwale’ (2015) starring Shah Rukh Khan and Varun Dhawan.
Kajol, who plays the role of an overprotective mother in ‘Helicopter Eela’ is the daughter of another veteran actress, Tanuja.
The yesteryear actress Kajol is also a full-time mother herself to Yug and Navya Devgan.
Kajol, who has romanced actors like Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and hubby Ajay Devgn, is all about modern-age parenting. She feels ‘parents need to discuss morality, ethics, compassion, and dignity with children’.
However, Kajol’s modern thoughts also spill into working with younger male actors. In 2017, the 44-year old worked with 35-year actor Dhanush in ‘Velaiilla Pattadhari 2’.
Speaking of younger actors, she has no qualms working with them. When the actor was recently asked ‘which actor from the young lot she wants to work with’, the actress said Varun Dhawan!
The Gupt actress said, “It has to be Varun. He’s a sweet guy and working with him is a lot of fun. So, if I have to romance someone, it would be him”.
For all those of you who have a weak memory, let’s recall that the two actors have in fact worked together in Rohit Shetty’ s ‘Dilwale’ earlier.
When yesteryear actress Kajol was asked about working with a younger co-star, she said:
“Of course, why not? But it depends on what the film would be about. I’ve no reservations, but the only thing that will make or break it for me is the script. If it’s great, then I’ll do it.”
Is this Varun Dhawan’s reaction right now?
