Gone are the days when we needed USBs, HDD and flash drives to take data from each other. Whether it be a computer or a phone or tab, these were our only choices when it came to data transfer. Before these we had the bluetooth as our ultimate saviour. However, with the onslaught of smart devices and the app for such devices which soon followed, we had many choices available. Xender is one of these apps which has proved to be a blessing and as per the ratings and reviews, it’s quite a good application too!
Would you want to try it for yourself? Then have a look at our Xender step-by-step guide which might help you out.
Download from Google Play/App Store
The first step would be to download the Xender app from Google Play (for Apple devices) or the App store (for Android devices). You can download it on any device, including your desktop PC, your tab and your laptop.
Click on send/ receive depending on requirement
Once you have launched the app, you will see two options on the homescreen of the app, which is ‘send’ and ‘receive’. Click on send if you want to send files/apps and click on receive if you want to receive files/apps. You can also choose the kind of device you want to share files with.
Click on send and do the following
If you want to send files to another device, click on the ‘send’ button. Right away, a hotspot will be created. This will help the other device get connected to your device. How will that happen though? You need to go to the other device, open the Xender app in it and click on ‘receive’ button. You will be asked to turn on GPS, please turn it on to go ahead. A search scan for nearby available devices will begin and you will need to choose the concerned device to begin the file transfer.
How to choose what to send
The app makes it convenient for each type of file to be shared easily between devices. If you want to see or download your connected device’s apps, you need to click on APPS. In case you want to transfer pictures taken with your camera, click on CAMERA. If it is something you want to transfer files from your gallery, click on GALLERY. Similarly, if you want to transfer your music, video or files, click on MUSIC, VIDEO & FILES respectively.
In the same manner, file transfer between two computers or between a cell phone and computer, or even between a tab and a computer /cellphone are possible by using the Xender app.
So, would you be using Xender for your file transfers now? Have you used Xender before? Do you know any other such file transfer apps? Let us know in the comments!
