Women are women’s worst enemies! It would be lying if I say that I haven’t heard this phrase numerous times. Girl, we are in 2019 and don’t you think it’s now time to give a spin to that age-old clichéd saying? Pick out any commercialized rom-com or ultra-romantic book, what is one recurring thing you see? Well, there are always two successful women who cannot stand each other. Really!!!
Sister, one thing we need to get clear is that we need to be there for each other. So, why not take up the opportunity of this approaching Women’s Day to get that done?
It doesn’t take much time to drop a few bitchy habits to bring out a better YOU. In case, you are clueless from where to start, we have some ideas for you!
1. Get over shit-talking
Do you think your urge to thrash other women is really uncontrollable? Fat, skinny, traditional, orthodox and what not! Can’t we just stop labeling our sisters and let them have a life of peace? Let’s get this clear! Life is hard for females and we certainly don’t need others to do us wrong without any reason. So, next time instead of shaming or trash-talking about a woman who is different from us, we can certainly say ‘keep it up, girl!’
2. Drop the act of irresponsibility
Have you ever thought about the fact that there are little girls who might look up to you? Yes, you can serve as their role model. It can be your daughter, sister, niece, neighbor, or even a stranger! So, when you try heart and soul to be an enemy of another woman for no good reason, then they learn that too. Instead, why not teach them about respect so the generation that comes after us is more accepting of everyone.
3. Stop thinking that feminism is a cuss word
OMG! She identifies with the F-word? Drop the drama girl! Feminism is something that is essential in the contemporary world. No, it is not the man-hating brand of propaganda. On contrary, it is about bridging the gaps between genders to create a better world. It is to identify the fact that patriarchy harms both men and women; hence we should do something to reach an effective solution.
4. Stop judging your body
Am I too fat? Am I too skinny? My pores are so big! Damn, I look ugly! These are some among the few things many of us have said to ourselves. But why? Often we come up with a list of things that we want to change about ourselves. That needs to stop! Unless you love yourself, especially your body, the pangs of jealous you feel by seeing other ‘perfect’ women will never go away. None of us are perfect! However, imperfection is the thing that makes everything beautiful.
5. Don’t forget to drop a compliment
If you admire or like something in fellow women then don’t shy away from giving them a compliment. Furthermore, if you get a compliment then accept it with pride. You deserve that!
We are often taught to compete against other women and to emerge as the ‘prettiest’ one. We should get out of that thinking to celebrate each other’s uniqueness.
