On August 4, 29-year-old Varnika Kundu, daughter of a senior IAS officer shared a horrific incident revealing that Vikas Barala, son of Haryana BJP President, Subhash Barala, along with his friend Ashish Kumar stalked her and almost kidnapped her.

The girl also filed a complaint with the Chandigarh police, stating that the two men almost kidnapped her, after they followed her for nearly 30 minutes over 7 km. The whole nation started talking about the incidence as the son of a BJP President was involved.

After a lot of effort, the investigation started happening. Almost every hour the police changed their statement. The whole story looked like a movie plot in which the whole system was trying to save the suspect because of his strong political background.

The police even said that no CCTV footage existed of the incident that they later found and contradicted their own statement.

Soon, BJP MPs started shaming the girl, defaming her character and said that the girl already knew Vikas Barala. But, does knowing a guy gives him the permission to do anything with you?

The worse happened when Haryana BJP Deputy President, Ramveer Bhatti, decided to shame the woman more by asking why she was roaming late at night.

Talking to the media, Ramveer Bhatti said,

Parents must take care of their children… they shouldn’t allow them to roam at night. Children should come home on time, why stay out at night?

In response to Ramveer Bhatti’s shameful statement, women from all across the nation started tweeting pictures of themselves out at night with hashtag #AintNoCinderella.

Roaming at night can never cause any harm to women. It’s the mentality of men that turn them into savages and make them think that they every right to do anything to women. If our country’s politicians will keep such low mentality then who else will save our nation?
