In a statement given by Indigo Airlines, it has been quoted, “Her flight was delayed for more than two hours for airspace closure due to the VVIP movement at Imphal.”

As per a report published in NDTV, Mr. Alphons also mentioned: “I understand her distress, you can’t blame her.” However, a few hours later, Mr. Aphons tweeted and denied the reports of the flight delay.

In a Tweet, he said that the flight landed at Imphal from Delhi as per the schedule.

Dr. Singh was booked to fly to Patna via Kolkata for her brother’s funeral. She alleged that her flight was two hours late. It has been reported that President Ram Nath Kovind was arriving in the city and the VVIP movement delayed the flight.

“I am a doctor, not a politician. I have very important time… I had to go to Patna at 2.45… that was the scheduled time… I told my family also. The body will degrade. I know… I am a doctor… the body will degrade and it will smell. It is still at my home,” she said, teary-eyed.

As per a statement by Alphons, “The President’s flight was landing…. the security protocol (of cordoning off airspace) has been around for 70 years. The PM and President must be protected and given the highest level of security.”
