The horrific incident took place in South Delhi’s Uttam Nagar when a 30-year-old Nigerian man Eezu visited his girlfriend Elvi Ujumma. A heated argument between the two witnessed a disastrous ending.

While explaining the incident to the police, Elvi Ujumma claimed that her boyfriend attacked her first and to keep him away she took the kitchen knife.

Talking about the incident, the police told TOI,

Ujumma had asked Eezu to come over to her house in the afternoon, but soon a violent argument ensued between them. The two calmed down after neighbours intervened. However, the fighting resumed when they left. Ujumma told police that the fight started over who would prepare dinner. She claimed that it was Eezu who hit her first.

To scare him away, she got a knife from the kitchen and asked him not to touch her. But when he again tried to attack her, she stabbed him repeatedly.

After stabbing her boyfriend multiple times, she locked herself in a room. After half an hour when she returned to see him, he was in a pool of blood.

To save his life Elvi Ujumma called her friend and took Eezu to the hospital where he was declared dead.

I got scared on seeing him bleeding badly and called my friends. Together, we took him to hospital. Doctors, however, declared him dead on arrival, a police officer quoted Elvi Ujumma.

As soon as her boyfriend was declared dead, Elvi returned home and locked herself. The police had to break into the house to arrest her. Talking about the couple and their relationship, a neighbor said,

The man often came to the house, but I had never heard them fighting like this. After some time, I saw the woman and her friends hailing an autorickshaw and taking the man to hospital. He was bleeding badly.

Eezu lost his life and Elvi is booked under charges of murder. Their anger drastically changed their lives. It’s a lesson for all, that anger never leads to anything good!
