As much as we love Indian weddings for being so colorful and fun, the paraphernalia of the occasion seems equally interesting. Everyone wants their wedding day to be unique and special, and therefore, creativity flows among the people. Wedding cards have been one of the most popular sources of inventing funny, relatable, cute messages.
One such unique wedding card has been printed by a farmer for his son’s wedding in Uttar Pradesh. The invitation reads “Sharaab peekar aana sakth mana hai” (Coming to marriage after consuming alcohol is strictly prohibited).

Kailash Prasad, a resident of Baliapur village in Sitapur, made special efforts to warn people about being notorious. Kailash believes that alcohol consumption is a social evil and he doesn’t want any wrong deed happening in his son’s wedding. He doesn’t support any kind of intoxication.
A message related to Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has also been printed on the card. People are requested to keep the premises clean during the ceremony. Kailash also said that he doesn’t mind if people feel bad but it will be better than the inconvenience caused later.

My father and I have been highly inspired by the Swachh Bharat initiative by PM Modi. My father specifically wanted the Swachh Bharat’s message and logo to be there on the wedding invitation card of my sister’s marriage on April 29, 2017. Hence I got it done.

It is true that alcohol consumption has created ruckus during wedding celebrations a number of times. Either drunkards get in brawls or end up embarrassing other guests. This puts the safety of people in peril and spoils the whole experience. Cleanliness is another issue as people litter and dirty the ceremony halls. Therefore, a message like this on a wedding card deserves applause.
