The monsoon can be fun for some of us, but it brings misery to the many cattle and strays on Indian roads. Left to the mercy of nature and humans, these animals can be found trying to seek shelter in tiny spaces during the rains or standing on roadsides getting wet. Often their sleeping areas get filled with water and they find it much harder to hunt for food.
The rains can bring out the best and the worst in people. In Mumbai, this watchman from Five Gardens, Matunga proved the human compassion is a stray’s best friend. He patiently kept a stray dog dry while the city got soaked by a monsoon shower.
