Waqar Younis And Wasim Akram Had An Ugly Twitter Spat Over Kumble’s 10 Wicket Haul

On 7 February 1999, Anil Kumble created the record of taking 10 wickets in an innings, after Jim Laker. During the test match, Pakistan needed 420 runs to win. Pakistan, with an excellent start, scored 101 without losing any wicket. And then, Indian cricket team’s ‘Jumbo’, Anil Kumble, single-handedly smashed the whole team and gave a historic win to India.

 

There is a special story behind this historic moment. To celebrate the anniversary of Anil Kumble’s 10 wicket haul, Twitter king, Virender Sehwag shared a story on his Twitter handle.

It was about former Pakistani captain, Wasim Akram, who revealed that Waqar Younis had the intention of ruining Kumble’s 10-wicket haul by getting run out. This is what Sehwag tweeted:

 



But, Waqar Younis didn’t like Wasim Akram’s confession. Waqar tweeted the same news piece and completely denied what Wasim Akram confessed. He also took a dig at Wasim’s age. Here is what Waqar tweeted:
