From movies like ‘Saathiya’ to ‘Masti’ and not to forget ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’, Vivek Oberoi has charmed us with his acting and looks in all these iconic films. However, there came a time when the graph of Vivek’s career faced a downfall. Vivek had to face struggles in his life even after being a star kid. Remember the infamous press conference that Vivek conducted claiming that Salman has threatened him on the phone and abused him after calling almost 41 times in a night?
In his latest interview with a leading daily, Vivek Oberoi talked about the 15 years he has given to the industry and the problems he had to face after daring to speak against the bhai of Bollywood. Vivek made a lot of shocking allegations on Salman and his rumored girlfriend, Aishwarya Rai, soon broke up with him after all the drama that he created. She never came on record talking about the whole scene.
Recalling the incident, Vivek said,
It was like a fatwa was issued against me from the powers that be.
However, there are people who don’t think so. An acquaintance of Vivek said,
To what extent Salman blacklisted him from the industry is a matter of conjecture. It’s easy to assume that he used his clout to ask people to exclude Vivek from projects. But then, Salman didn’t get along with Ranbir Kapoor and John Abraham either and they’ve both got work through the years.
Referring to the problems and how his personal life got messed, Vivek shared that he couldn’t keep focused because of all the drama that happened in his personal front.
When my personal life got messed up, I couldn’t keep my eye on the ball.
Yes, the actor managed to give a hit in 2007 with ‘Shootout At Lokhandwala’ but that also didn’t work for him,

Even if I gave a hit, work wouldn’t follow. Shootout at Lokhandwala became a huge hit, but I sat at home for a year after that.
Not everything happened because of Salman. Claiming that Vivek made mistakes in choosing films, an insider of the industry said,
Vivek only chose the worst films. He let go of Hum Tum, Bunty Aur Babli and Om Shanti Om. If your films are successful, people work with you, regardless. Vivek had 9 to 10 flops in a row.
After all the failures that Vivek has faced so far, he is back on the map after giving an applauding performance in the Tamil film, ‘Vivegam’. Hope the actor will soon get ready for a comeback on the silver screen.
