India captain Virat Kohli on January 6 took to Twitter and slammed people who molested and groped women on New Year’s Eve.

Calling the Bengaluru incident shameful, Virat posted a video post on Twitter and said that those who just stood and watched what was happening in silence have “no right to call themselves men”.

He further added that he feels ashamed to be a part of a society where this is acceptable and said people should put themselves in the position of those girls or their family and think if they would have allowed such an act then.

The 94-second video, which was cut in two parts, was posted by Kohli on the morning of January 6, just a day after Bengaluru Police Chief claimed that there is no proof of the mass molestation having taken place on December 31 – January 1 night.

“What happened in Bangalore is really really disturbing. To see something like that happening to the girls and for people to watch and not do anything about it is a cowardly act. Those people have no right to call themselves men… These things are allowed to happen because people stand there and watch it and they are absolutely fine with it…Just because she is wearing short clothes. It’s her life and it’s her decision…The fact that these things are in certain people’s heads and is acceptable to a certain degree, it’s disturbing and it’s shocking. I am ashamed to be a part of that society.”
