Virat Kohli just made a heartfelt promise to the Indian fans that his team “will not repeat mistakes” after their second innings and 159-run loss by England in the second Test at Lord’s on August 12. As captain, Virat Kohli’s woes don’t seem to end with the Indian side now 2-0 down in a five-match series. Following Lord’s hammering, Virat Kohli, who didn’t perform in either inning, wants to get his act together before the third Test in Nottingham, starting August 18.
Indian captain Virat Kohli struggled throughout the series with a painful lower back and shoulder issues, almost limping at certain important match points.
According to Virat, this loss was a ‘learning lesson’, and he said:
“We have to accept the mistakes, learn from them, put them aside, make sure we’re not thinking about the same mistakes again, rather get confident and not repeat those again stressed.”
Virat Kohli’s woes got worse as his batsmen looked completely out of sorts against the host team. Virat’s injuries added more pain to the already tensed situation.
Despite Virat Kohli’s woes about injuries and Team India not getting a sturdy lead, he’s hopeful that things will turn around for third match.
Despite his worrisome injuries, Virat is all perked up for the Independence Day celebrations, which is on August 15, 2018. Virat’s 23.5m Instagram followers were happy to see him smiling and in an Indian avatar.
The Indian captain was quick to nominate his fellow team members Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant to share their ‘Swatantrata Diwas’ look. Shikhar had earlier shared this image of the two families living it up in London:
Both Shikhar and Rishabh aren’t currently playing in the Test series squad, but, Virat wants them to share their traditional look along with hashtags #Veshbhusha and #JaiHind.
Obliging Virat Kohli’s request on Instagram, Shikhar Dhawan was the first to share his ‘Swatantrata Diwas’ look, thanking Virat for the nomination.
