The Indian cricket team has made history in Australia on January 7. Virat Kohli led team won its most celebrated test series against the Aussies. It was a 71-year old wait for the historic win. The fourth and final Test match was a barren draw due to the unexpected weather but not none the less because India won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and the series with a 2-1 lead. The moment was golden as Virat Kohli is the first captain who made this happen with his team unlike the captains before.

Virat Kohli and his men performed the victory dance on and off the field. However, the win has sparked many controversies. This is a big win and invited big statements. But there was one statement which has attracted the most gaze. Cricketers KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya were recently the guests on the talk show Koffee With Karan and said something which has become more prominent after this big win.

Virat has certainly proved himself on a grand scale. The batsman is just four years down in captaincy, but has registered big wins. And this test series is the biggest. Ravi Shastri even claimed that it is bigger than 1983 world cup:

“I will tell you how satisfying it is for me. World Cup 1983, World Championship of Cricket 1985 – this is as big, or even bigger, because it is in the truest (Test) format of the game. It’s Test cricket, which is meant to be the toughest.”

However, Shastri is being trolled on the same statement. Another eye-rolling statement was made by KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya in Koffee With Karan. In a rapid-fire question when asked who is better Sachin or Virat? They said- Virat.

Has the test series victory justified the answer? Well, it is a question for fans. But since the comment, the cricketers have been trolled on social media.

Virat also believes that this win on Australian soil is the biggest in his life and it will give a ‘different identity’ to the current team. But is Virat better than Sachin Tendulkar? Is this comparison even necessary? What do you think? Do you agree with KL Rahul? Let us know in the comments section below.
