In the time of social media, it is almost impossible to stop trolling. No doubt with great fame comes great trolling, and the latest addition to this is Indian cricketer Virat Kohli. The cricketer was recently trolled for his statement about fans liking batsmen from other countries. Capitalising on Kohli’s ‘love for brands and his brand endorsements’, a parody account has emerged on Twitter. The account @imVlkohli was created this month and already has over 3000 followers.
The account gained popularity after Kohli was slammed for his comments that “people who do not like Indian batsmen should leave the country”. This parody account took advantage of this burning issue and tweeted that he as in Virat Kohli is discontinuing his brand endorsement contract with non-Indian brands.
This was the video in which Kohli allegedly asked a fan to leave India
Is #Kohli asking his non-Indian fans to leave their country and come to India🤔🤔.. Or to sort their priorities? #WTF pic.twitter.com/tRAX4QbuZI

Look at the series of tweets he made after that incident and used the brands of Kohli in the tags.
I am discontinuing my brand endorsement contract with non indian brands with immediate effect. I will now endorse only Indian brands, hope the Indian fans too, will like and endorse Indian cricketers over English and Australian cricketers from now on. Thank you.

In this tweet again the parody account is naming various brands promoted by Kohli.
Thanks for gifting me the #VivoV10 Smart Phone having dual front Camera & Selfie Flash, The picture quality where I am wearing #Manyavar kurta & #Lenskart Glasses looks awesome. The terrace railing painted white with @Nerolac_Paints also is clearly visible. https://t.co/7i1dSmkfon

In another tweet, he involved the cricketer’s actress wife Anushka Sharma in which he is addressing her but again with a lot of brands.
Spend ur Sunday with ur Wife, like me, shopping with her at @ShoppersStop having 65% Discount, rather than wasting ur time lying idle on #Godrej Sofa & eating @TooYumm #BakedNotFried chips while watching the dead rubber game of @Paytm #IndvWI T20I on ur new #SonyBravia 4K Led Tv. pic.twitter.com/DYahBfGZb5

On the occasion of Diwali, Virat and Anushka shared a picture with wishes for their fans and this account used the same picture but with a twist. He again mentioned many of the promoted Indian brands.
Celebrate Diwali with bright @SyskaIndia LED bulbs while wearing your #Manyavar Kurta & #Zara designer dress & capture your memories by clicking selfie from #VivoV11MaxPro having dual camera & front flash for clear night selfies where even #Polycab wires are visible. #HappyDiwali pic.twitter.com/ss737Ol56E

Ranveer and Deepika recently got married in Italy and this parody account of Virat Kohli congratulated both of them with a ‘branded message’.
Congratulations to @RanveerOfficial & @deepikapadukone. U look stunning in ur #Manyavar Kurta while holding @PCChandraJwelrs in your hand for the bride looking beautiful in her @ManishMalhotra wedding collection wearing @TanishqJewelry. The Twitter account is just a month old, but it has already gained enough traction and continues to bring some amount of laughter to the medium. What do you think of this?
