A very cautious and well-constructed innings from Indian captain Virat Kohli have helped lift the struggling visitors on the third day of the second cricket Test against South Africa at the SuperSport Park. Kohli scored his magnificent 21st century in what could be described as a keen tussle between Indian batsmen and South African bowlers. Due to a slow pitch on a hot day, it was tough going for both batsmen and bowlers.
Earlier, in response to 335 posted by South Africa in the first innings, India quickly lost the wickets of KL Rahul and Cheteshwar Pujara. After that Kohli and Murali Vijay stitched a crucial partnership before Murali Vijay got dismissed on 46.
Towards the tea session when Kohli and Vijay were on the crease, the Indian captain was heard saying, “Sham Tak Khelenge, Inka G##nd Fatt Jaegi.” What he meant was “We shall play the day out and the Proteas would be worried to the core.”
Kohli’s animated words that were caught on the stump mic are now making news all over.
