The Indian cricket team is getting praises from all around the world over its historic Test series victory in Australia, their first ever Down Under. The Virat Kohli-led Men in Blue ended India’s 71-year wait to breach the ‘last frontier’. It came four years after Kohli took over the captainship from MS Dhoni, and by doing so he became the first man to lead the country to a series triumph in Australia. Despite the fact that the Indian side has struggled abroad, this win would mean that they are ready to conquer any team, anywhere at any time.

Be it marvelous Test batting by Cheteshwar Pujara – who scored an impressive 521 runs in seven innings at a remarkable average of 72.43, or the way Rishabh Pant took on the Aussie pace, it was a collective team effort. Cricketing legend Sir Vivian Richards hailed the ‘exceptional batting’ from Pujara and said that the team came out ‘smelling good’ in tough conditions.

The Indian skipper was on cloud number nine after his team’s historic achievement and described the win as his “biggest achievement” in the career so far. He even rated it above India’s World Cup win in 2011. Kohli led India from the front, scoring 282 runs in the four-match series with a century in Perth.

He said:

“By far this is my best achievement. Has to be on top of the pile. When we won the World Cup, I was a young player. I saw the others getting emotional. This series will give us a different identity as a team. What we’ve been able to achieve is something to be really proud of.”

Soon after this, Kohli posted a picture on social media and now it is breaking the ineternet. The image shows him in a state of “bliss.”
