After a lot of rumors over their wedding, Anushka and Virat have finally tied the knot. On her D-day, Anushka shined like a princess and Virat too looked no less than a prince charming.
Everything about the Virushka wedding seemed to be just perfect. If media reports are to be believed, the wedding ring that Virat gifted to Anushka costs about Rs 1 crore. Even the outfits worn by the couple were super-expensive.
Amid all the perfect and fancy things, best one was their wedding venue. Borgo Finocchieto, a medieval luxury villa in Tuscany, Italy, sits at the second number in Forbes’ list of 20 most expensive holiday destinations in the world. The per night room rents at the resort range between Rs 6,50,000 to Rs 14,00,000.
The approximate cost of staying at the resort for one week is about Rs 1 crore for one person. So the total cost of hosting the guests at the resort for the wedding must have been around Rs 45 to 50 crore. It is believed that the resort opens in April but it was specially opened in December for Virushka wedding.
As per a report by Amar Ujala, the wedding arrangements were done by celebrity manager Bunty Sajdeh. He has planned parties for a number of celebrities from cricket and Bollywood quarters. He is the founder of Cornerstone, a company that manages Virat Kohli and a number of other Indian cricketers. Bunty is also a partner in CSE Consulting, a company in which Virat also holds stakes.
Apart from Bunty, famous Lucknow based wedding planner Devika also played a big role in making the wedding a special affair. Exclusive arrangements of music artists to play Shehnai and Dhol and dancers for performing Bhangra were also made at the wedding to give it an Indian touch.
Considering the lavishness of their wedding, one thing that is certain is that Virat and Anushka have spent money with open arms on the most special day of their lives. The people who were roped in to make the arrangements are also celebrities in their own fields and charge humongous fee.
It is being anticipated that the two must have spent close to Rs 80 to Rs 100 crore on their wedding. Isn’t that a big amount? And that’s why Indian weddings are called big fat!!!
