Vidya Balan Rejected Rajinikanth’s Film For This Reason, Huma Qureshi Approached

Sharing screen space with superstar Rajinikanth is everyone’s dream. Many Bollywood beauties including Sridevi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Sonakshi Sinha and Radhika Apte have worked with him, no doubt his name is enough to gather big earnings at the box office, such is his aura.


According to a latest report, actress Huma Qureshi is likely to become the next actress, who would share the screen space with Rajinikanth, in their upcoming film.


Vidya Balan had earlier been approached to star opposite Rajinikanth in Pa Ranjith’s next. Balan was reportedly also approached for KS Ravikumar’s 2014 action film ‘Lingaa’ and Ranjith’s 2016 gangster flick ‘Kabali’.

It is believed that the starlet has refused to work in the film due to many other projects lined up and also due to date issues.

As per a report published in Pune Mirror, film’s team approached Qureshi for the role opposite Rajinikanth. She is well known for her remarkable performances in Gangs of Wasseypur’ directed by ace filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and Abhishek Chaubey’s 2014 dark comedy ‘Dedh Ishqiya’ together with Subhash Kapoor’s courtroom drama ‘Jolly LLB 2’ that released earlier this year.



It is contended that the film’s shooting will begin from 28 May. The film will be produced by his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth and her husband-actor Dhanush’s home production banner Wunderbar Films.
