Owing to the popularity of recently released Sanjay Dutt biopic ‘Sanju’, Vicky Kaushal doesn’t need a huge introduction. However, a little peek into the actor’s life is customary before we proceed to discuss his future project ‘Uri’.
The actor was born on May 16, 1988, to Sham Kaushal, a Bollywood action director. Before venturing into movies, Vicky Kaushal completed a degree in engineering from Mumbai’s Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology.
After that, he stepped into Bollywood with minor roles in movies. Kaushal got his big acting break in the 2015 movie ‘Masaan’, for which he earned critical acclaim. He also bagged the Screen Award – Best Male Debut for the same. Vicky subsequently went on to star in movies like ‘Zubaan’, ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’, ‘Raazi’, and ‘Sanju‘.
Currently, the actor is busy shooting for his next movie ‘Uri’ in Siberia. According to reports, Vicky had to gain a whopping 20 kgs weight for his role in the movie.
He underwent intense training sessions to prepare for this role. This is what the actor reportedly told TOI before the shooting began:

Vicky Kaushal plays a commander-in-chief for the Indian army. The Aditya Dhar directorial is based on the 2016 Uri attacks in Kashmir. The attack was one of the most deadly attacks on Indian forces in Kashmir.
Talking about Vicky Kaushal’s character in the movie, a media daily quoted a source saying:
“Considering the kind of action he’s required to do and the stuff he has to carry as part of his character, Vicky had to gain considerable weight for it. Earlier, he weighed 70 kilos, and now, he’s 90 kilos.”
Evidently, the actor is working really hard to build and maintain a physique suitable for his character. The movie is being shot during night-time, the actor undergoes intense cardio workout sessions in the day.
With all the hard work and Vicky Kaushal’s amazing acting abilities, we are sure that ‘Uri’ will go on to become a success.
