Fan of rom-com? Well, if you absolutely want to get all mushy in love and enjoy a comical take on romance, then we doubt this film is for you! Of course, featured as rom-com, this film passes as one if it manages to bring a smirk on your face. Will it? We doubt!
As the name clearly says, it’s the story of someone named Veerey getting hitched. Pulkit Samrat as Veerey probably has hit the lowest in his career with this role. Kriti Kharbanda, as seen in few previous movies too, looks very bride-like.
In the movie, Veerey is a modern day vigilante whose mission is to ‘do good.’ Right from beating up roadside Romeos to stopping ATM robbers (that definitely isn’t the job of the police), he does it all! Joined by Jimmy Shergill as Bali, he is a ‘munda’ who beats up the ‘gunda.’
He is madly in love (how predictable!) with Geet but is afraid to tell his parents. Finally, he lets his family know but gets rejected by the girl’s family. You may wonder why to reject a guy with such a ‘golden heart?’ (Not to forget rich too!) Well, Geet’s father desires a ‘sanskari munda’ for his daughter and not a ‘do-gooder gunda.’
By the time the movie approaches the second half, you will surely blame yourself for being in the theater. Veerey showing off his muscles all throughout the movie clearly establishes the fact that he is more brawn than brains. Geet does what every female protagonist is expected to do, act dumb and stay pretty.
Probably the only thing tolerable in this movie is the effort of Jimmy Shergill as Bali. Even the music of the movie is very forgettable. With many loose ends, characters dropping in and out and predictable storyline, this is a movie you should watch at your own risk.
