Bollywood diva Kajol is all set to return to the silver screen after her last movie Dilwale released three years ago. On her birthday on August 5, she released the trailer of her upcoming film Helicopter Eela that tells the story of a mother who starts studying at her teen son’s college. Kajol has been quite busy with her responsibilities as a mother all this while and we have definitely missed her on the big screen. Nevertheless, she is bringing a heartwarming story with the movie Helicopter Eela to her fans.
The trailer of the film looks quite endearing presenting the story of a single mother and her son whose life changes when the mother decides to complete her education after 22 years. The situation turns against the son when the mother played by Kajol joins her son’s college.
Take a look at the beautiful trailer of Helicopter Eela here:
However, it seems like all is not well in the wonderland for Kajol and the makers of the film. Apparently, the National Film Award-winning lyricist and writer Varun Grover seemed a bit unhappy with the trailer of the film and the reason for his dissatisfaction with the trailers is quite reasonable.
Sacred Games writer, Varun Grover took it his Twitter account to slam the trailer of Kajol’s Helicopter Eela for their ‘shameful’ act of not crediting renowned lyrics writer Swanand Kirkire in the trailer. His tweet read:
“This new film’s trailer is cut mostly on songs. They have credited everybody in the title-plate at the end EXCEPT the lyrics writer(s) (including Swanand Kirkire). All you need to know how dispensable they think we are. Shameful.”
Here is the tweet by the renowned lyricist:

Later the tweet was retweeted by Bollywood singer and composer Vishal Dadlani as well. While the music composer Amit Trivedi has been credited in the title plate of the trailer, the name of lyricist Swanand Kirkire is missing from the credits.
Varun Grover’s anger is definitely understandable since many times lyricists get second-hand treatment from many filmmakers.
Furthermore, even the Twitterati were outright furious at the situation as they posted outrageous tweets about the missing name of the lyricist. Take a look at some of the tweets here:
There are 8 names of co/producers in this slate. In a whatsapp forward to promote the film, there are 10 names from Production. No mention of any lyricist! These people are going to a hell where there will be no songs. https://t.co/yqbkPVoKiw

Very shameful. No credits in the poster and not in the trailer too. This is their new trend. Not crediting musicians & lyricists while promoting their films on & around songs.https://t.co/iI96ncZPqx

People have faced the same situations!
Infuriating and my sympathies. I can’t remember how many times this has happened with me and so many photographers across the world. Photo page pe lagate samay yeh nahin chamakta hai ki aakhir ye aayi kahan se? Suryadev to kadak dhoop ke alaawa aajkal kuch bhejte bhi nahin!

It has the name of the Publicity Designer, who has no role in the making of this trailer or the film, but they think lyricists’s name are not important here. Shameful.

However, the makers of the film including Kajol’s husband and Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn took notice of this tweet and posted a tweet on his account apologizing for missing out the names of the lyricist and writer Swanand Kirkire. He also mentioned that the mistake is being rectified as well.
Read Ajay Devgn’s tweet here:
We accidentally missed out @swanandkirkire‘s name as lyricist from Helicopter Eela trailer. Apologies, rectifying it.

The film has been directed by Pradeep Sarkar and stars Kajol, Riddhi Sen, Neha Dhupia and Tata Roy Chowdhury in the lead. The film is scheduled to release in September 2018 in the theatres.
