In 2015, ‘Masaan’ was such a huge success that it got the 63rd National Award for director Neeraj Ghaywan and lyricist-screenwriter Varun Grover on 3 May, 2016.

This was followed by a Tweet from Varun Grover, but it wasn’t a usual Tweet to express happiness.

His second Tweet won many hearts; it was their concern for the parts of the nation facing drought over the past 100 years. They announced that they are donation the whole prize money for drought relief in Maharashtra.

Giving your prize money away is a big deal, but this guy with a huge heart called it a drop in the ocean.

He also expressed the reason behind making it public. He wanted to inspire other people.

And guess what? He succeeded. This became contagious and went viral on Twitter. A whole lot of celebrities stepped up and joined the cause, including Gaurav Kapoor a television presenter.

Then the comedians of ‘All India Bakchod’. Yes, they took this seriously and the whole team of AIB donated for the cause.

Along with them, musicians Sona Mahapatra and Ram Sampath joined hands too.

Joining hands to deal with the situation is the only way to eradicate it. One person can make a huge difference provided a few others should support that person. Good going Varun. You have earned a whole lot of success.
