1. Clean windows or glass panes

The citric acid in coke makes for an excellent window cleaner. This is especially useful for car windows which often get tough buildups with dust. Think of this as a cheap alternative to the many citrus fruit based cleaners that are advertised on TV.

2. Remove the rust

Coca-Cola is an excellent rust buster. If you have a bunch of small objects that need de-rusting, soak them in coke at night and give them a good scrub in the morning. The properties of coke help break the rust particles, making cleaning much easier.

3. De-blacken the pots

The bottom of any pots often gets black after cooking. This is caused by overcooking or natural discoloration due to the cooking of highly acidic foods. They are difficult to clean or remove. However, coke can remove the black and restore the pot to look like a new one. To do this, pour in an amount of coke to cover the blackened area by an inch. Put it on stove on a low heat. After an hour or so, wash the pot as normal.

4. Remove stains from clothes

Grease stains are quite difficult to remove from clothes and stain removers are often expensive. But coke can do wonders in this. Just empty a can of coke into your washing machine along with usual detergent and run it through a normal cycle. The work is done. The solution is quite effective for removing blood stains. It also helps deodorize smelly clothes.

5. A painkiller for jellyfish stings

The chemicals in Coca-Cola are very effective in neutralizing the pain of jellyfish stings. Just pour the coke over the area in which you have been stung and feel the relief.

6. Kill the unwanted bugs

Pour some coke into a shallow dish and place it in the garden where the insects are in plenty. Slugs, snails and other bugs will go in for a drink and will never come out of it. This is a very good first line of protection from attacks by insects in your garden. This can help save money by reducing the need for pesticides.
