As per the result of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam 2016 declared today, Nandini KR, an Indian Revenue Services officer has topped the exam.
This is the third consecutive year when the exam has been topped by a female candidate.

Nandini, who belongs to Karnataka and is presently taking her training at National Academy of Customs, Excise and Narcotics in Faridabad, says that she always wanted to be an IAS officer. This was her fourth attempt, in which she passed with flying colors.

Earlier in 2014, Nandini had cracked the exam with rank 849 and was allotted Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Central Excise). She was M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology’s gold medalist in civil engineering.

Anmol Sher Singh Bedi from Punjab has grabbed second position in the prestigious exam. A total of 1099 candidates comprising 253 women and 846 men have qualified the exam for appointment in various services in the central government. Other 220 candidates are in the waiting list.
