A bizarre news has come to light when a fake Twitter account in the name of Uttar Pradesh Police DGP started giving orders and junior cops blindly followed the instructions issued by it in Gorakhpur district. The twitter handle using DGP Om Prakash Singh’s name and photograph was created by a minor boy. As per the reports, the minor boy is a class X student.
According to TOI, the boy created the account after getting frustrated that the police were not taking action in a cheating case where his older brother has lost Rs 45,000.
By creating the fake account with DGP’s name, the boy successfully fooled the cops in the Gorakhpur district and made them take an action against the cheat. They even got Rs. 30,000 returned to the older brother of the culprit.
The existence of the DGP’s fake account came to light when the Gorakhpur police updated the DGP about the development, only to find out there was no direction.
The fraudulence came to light when the DGP’s office reported the matter to the cyber cell a month ago and filed a case against the deception. Soon the phone via which the fake account was being operated got traced and the police caught the boy and his friend who were involved in the fraud.
“We took a reformative approach and let off both the school-going kids, as any action would have affected their future.”
Do you think the boys took such action because of the negligence they face by the police department? Do share your views in the comments section below.
