Over the past few days, Tamil Nadu’s traditional bull taming sport, Jallikatu has been the hot topic of discussion among the people.
While people have over the weeks have stayed united to protest against its ban, there have also been incidents of anger and violence when protesters thought someone was going against them.
Though the matter has started to cool down now thanks to center’s approval to the Jallikattu Ordinance draft, it was much heated some days back, when people all over Tamil Nadu had taken to the street and demanded that the ban on Jallikatu be lifted.
During that protest though one witnessed a scene so profound that it has left many inspired.
On January 20, at Chennai’s famous Marina Beach beach, Muslims were seen performing their Friday prayers, while Hindus stood around them forming a human chain, so as to not let anyone harm them or disturb their prayers.
The simple act only voiced their support to the group but also showed unity against the forces who target Tamil Muslims.
