The police force, who has been posted around Chennai’s Apollo Hospital since September 22, were even asked to report for duty at 7 am on December 5, soon after the news about Amma’s heart attack was made public.

Anticipating tension which can lead to riots within the state, the Tamil Nadu Police had kept a strict security near the hospital, so as to avoid any violence or public outrage.
