Vice-President, Mohammad Hamid Ansari, gave quite a blunt interview ahead of his his last day in office. In one of his comments, Ansari questioned the liberty of Muslims living in India.
Citing the political problems in India, Ansari stated, “There is a feeling of unease and a sense of insecurity among the Muslims in the country”. He asserted that the “ambience of acceptance” is now under threat.
He further mentioned that hyper-nationalism and the closing of the mind are also a manifestation of insecurity about one’s place in the world.
Ansari’s words certainly hurt the sentiments of a lot of people who believe in the genuine secular principles of India. No one sees Muslims in poor light and many Muslims enjoy the highest level of love and appreciation from India’s majority Hindu community.
It is because of this reason that people are strongly criticizing Ansari’s speech on various social platforms:
History will remember #HamidAnsari as aberration for VicePresidency of India,he always thought himself as Muslim & Communist, than an Indian!

#HamidAnsari was supposed 2 thank&talk of TriColor
Instead he showed his True Color
That means he was leading our Country with bad intention

A real tragedy is that he has reduced himself to a spokesman for his community rather than Vice-President of all of India,#HamidAnsari

After his retirement as VP this #HamidAnsari shud join some madarsa as molvi, typical anti-hindu jihadi mindset.

Hamid Ansari as Indian Amb in Iran did not get released abducted RAW officer from Iranian.Indian staff ladies protested. Then GOI intervened

Indeed, Ansari’s comment was unwarranted and does not befit someone who was the Vice-President of India for 10 long years.
