Actor turned author, Twinkle Khanna is famous for her sarcastic tweets and witty blogs. The actress never minces a word while expressing her opinion and this invites controversies a lot of times. It is a known fact that Twinkle couldn’t excel as an actor in Bollywood and failed drastically to please the audience with her acting skills. But, her words are doing wonders and are making her earn a lot of fame. In no time Twinkle has become a known and beloved author. Her movie ‘Padman’ starring her husband, Akshay Kumar has already started gaining attention. Twinkle’s journey from an actor to an author has been tough but she never lost hopes.
As reported by TOI, Twinkle was present at a panel discussion along with cricketer Sourav Ganguly, badminton coach P Gopichand and many others.
While speaking at the panel, Mrs Funnyboes accepted that she failed as an actor and shared that she never wanted to join this industry.
Talking about her career choice, Twinkle said:
“When you don’t take success very seriously it’s easier to shrug off failure. When I finished my 12th grade, I wanted to become a chartered accountant. But since my parents were in the entertainment business, they were keen I follow their footsteps and I did.”
She expressed that it took her eight years to realize that she was a failure in the industry:
“Eight years later, I came to the conclusion that I had spectacularly failed as an actress. Though this was a bit disheartening, I wasn’t shattered, partly because of the way my mother had raised me, and also because I realised that having failed at something didn’t mean that I was a failure.”
The actor used a flying kite as a metaphor for life and compared the two beautifully. She said:
“It (the failure) meant that I now had the opportunity to try and succeed at million other things. I moved on and here I am today. Life is like flying a kite. Sometimes you have to hold on tight, sometimes loose. Sometimes your kite can fly effortlessly and at other times no matter what you do, you cannot control it.”
Twinkle further added:
“But even when you’re struggling to keep your kite afloat, and the string is cutting into your hand, don’t let go. The wind may change once again in your favour, just don’t let go.”
To all her fans and the people who heard her talking about her career choices and how life took a turn and helped her make it big, she has given a major life lesson. No matter how tough the situation gets, giving up should never be an option. Try, try, until you succeed because the result will make you live a happy and satisfied life later on.
