Who would have imagined a fairy tale hen party suddenly turning into a doom day? While a lavish wedding, loads of good wishes, beautiful bridesmaids and an expensive wedding, is just somethings girls dream of, Turkish Instagram star and construction heiress Mina Basaran was one of the lucky few who had it all sorted.
But little did fate give her the happiness to enjoy her wedding, which was only a month away from now. Sadly, Mina, along with her 7 friends, were killed in a private jet crash in Iran on Sunday when she was returning from her own bachelorette party.
The jet (the Bombardier Challenger 604) reportedly crashed in the Zagros Mountains outside of Shahr-e Kord, a city which lies south of Iranian capital Tehran. It killed all 11 people on board, which included three crew members and her 7 bridesmaids, who were all returning from Dubai.
The bride-to-be and Turkish socialite, was pictured on the doomed private jet – smiling and beaming before the fateful crash along with the three female crew-members and friends.
Mina was due to marry her fiancé Murat Gezer on April 14. They were madly in love and these pictures are proof:
Ms Basaran even posed in a custom made ‘Mrs Bride’ denim jacket before boarding the private jet which later took her life:
The jet, a Canadian-made Bombardier Challenger, was owned by the company run by Ms Basaran’s father, business tycoon Huseyin Basaran – the chairman of Basaran Investment Holding. According to sources, Mina was next in line to run the business.
The socialite was an Instagram star, amassing an incredible 85,000 + followers on the social media platform, which has now been turned into private since her death.
She posted several photos before her hen party, which included one where she’s holding heart-shaped balloons – which was one of the last images of Miss Basaran.
Her Facebook account had now turned into a tribute page following her death over this weekend.
The seven hen party guests who perished along with the bride-to-be, were young girls who had established businesses in fashion, jewellery, clothes designing, clinical psychology, etc.
According to flight-tracking website FlightRadar24, the aircraft had rapidly gained altitude a little over an hour into the flight then “dropped drastically within minutes”. Witnesses said they saw the plane was on fire before it hit the mountain.
Here are the heart-wrenching photos shared online of the extent of the accident from the tragic site:
