Though the monsoon season is officially over, heavy rains are still showing their wrath in some parts of the country, Mumbai is one among them. South Mumbai, Borivali, Kandivali, Andheri and Bhandup are the parts of the financial capital that received heavy and incessant downpour. This has led to substantial troubles in the life of Mumbaikars and left flight and railway operations disrupted. But the local trains of Mumbai are its lifeline and hence are operating despite the hurdles, their speed though has to be slowed down as and when required.
As the rains refuse to stop, an amusing video shot at the Nallasopara station, on the outskirts of the city, has gone viral. In the thrilling video, a train enters the station at full speed despite waterlogged tracks. As the train zooms across the station, it gives an unexpected forced shower to those waiting on the platform. Passengers rush for cover but to no avail as the speeding train drenches them in muddy rainwater.
As reported by NDTV, railway officials said that the trains can move at a certain speed if the tracks are clear even if there is water a few inches above the railway line. They also suggested that the train could be moving at a slow speed but since the video is shot from a close distance, it appeared that it was approaching the platform speedily.
Here is the video of the train dashing into the station and leaving commuters startled by an abrupt shower:
