Matched by gorgeous leading ladies Vyjayanthimala, Tanuja, Helen, Anju Mahendru and Faryal, this is another wonderful film of Dev Anand to hit Indian screens. Dev Anand portrayed the role of Vinay and Amar who are mistaken for each other, driving Vinay crazy.
4. Bombai Ka Babu:
Dev Anand portrays the role of a fugitive on the run who takes shelter with a couple claiming to be their long lost son. Unfortunately, he falls in love with their daughter, who everyone assumes to be his sister. The dilemma of the character is brought alive on screen by Dev Anand in his own inimitable style, especially during the song ‘Chal ri sajni’.

Johnny Mera Naam is considered to be the most seductive film of Dev Anand, especially for the filming of the song ‘Husn ke laakhon rang’ which was superbly rendered by Asha Bhosle. It also shot Kishore Kumar into limelight with a very popular song ‘Pal Bhar Ke Liye’ composed by Kalyanji-Anandji. Dev Anand played a perfect loving elder brother to Zeenat Aman who ends up as a drug addict due to the trauma of her conflicting parents. His efforts to reform his sister were touchingly portrayed in the film which was filmed when International Hare Krishna movement rose to prominence in the 1970s. The performance of Zeenat Aman and Dev Anand were so convincing that they could never appeal to mass as a couple in future.
