Amy Irving, the actress auditioned for Steven Spielberg‘s movie in 1977, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, failed to get the role but got the guy. The duo later married in 1985, after Spielberg’s career started booming with “Indiana Jones” and “ET”. But after 4 years of marriage they decided to part ways. A former American basketball player and a major owner of the Charlott Boncats, Michael met Juanita Vanoy at a restaurant in Chicago. They both married on September 2nd 1989. The first trouble in their marriage was seen in 2002 when Juanita filed for divorce over unsolvable conflicts but soon they considered reconciliation to give their marriage a second chance. However in 2007, the couple finally got a place in the list of costliest celebrity divorces. In this separation, Juanita Vanoy was given $168 million.

7. John ‘Jack’ Welch and Jane Beasley ($180 million):

Chairman of General Electric, New York from 1981 to 2001, Jack Welch was bitten for $180 million from his estimated gross worth of around $720 million in 2003 after Jane Beasley, his second wife divorced him and finished the 13 year old marriage. A former mergers and acquisition lawyer, Beasley had persisted that their pre-nuptial agreement must expire after the first 10 years, something that helped her to obtain such a huge amount.

As per the court records of the Soviet Union, the couple married in 1975 in Ukraine and came in US with only four suitcases and $500 in cash. But in 2003, after 28 years of marriage, Maya filed for divorce after citing irreconcilable differences from energy magnate Michael Polsky. Later in October 2006 a Chicago judge said Mrs. Polsky was entitled to at least half of the couple’s assets – making her the award winner of $184 million. Billionaire and Chelsea FC owner, Roman Abramovich reached out an out-of-control settlement in 2007 with his the then wife Irina at $300million. The fifth costliest celebrity divorces of this list came after it was exposed that Abramovich was having a relationship with former model Daria Dasha Zhukova. Irina issued with an ultimatum, compelling him to opt between her and Daria and the fourth richest man in Russia chose Daria. It had been speculated that the settlement would make Irina the world’s top divorcee as her legal team has proposed $7 billion however, Roman’s advisor negotiated it down to $300 million.

4. Robyn Denis Moore and Mel Gibson ($425 million):

Mel Gibson met and fall in love with Robyn Denise, a dental nurse in 1970. Both tenants at a house, the couple tied the knot in 1980. However, in 2009, when Robyn heard Mel fathering a child from his girlfriend, she filed a divorce.  The two separated after 31 years of marriage with a $425 million settlement – Perhaps, one of the costliest celebrity divorces among the Hollywood celebs.

When Craig (the cell phone entrepreneur) and his wife, Wendy decided in 1995 to part way after 22 years of marriage both the sides hired divorce experts, accountants and business attorneys to look at their own end of the divorce proceedings. During the 1980s Adnan Khashoggi, the Saudi businessman was considered as one of the world’s richest men. He made his fortune as an International arms dealer before switching to hotels, oil and banking. Married to Soraya (a 20 year old English girl named Sandra Daly) in 1961, the couple separated in 1974 after Adnan got to know about Soraya’s affair with his close friend. Australian Billionaire Rupert Murdoch’s 32 year marriage with Anna Torv came to end in 1999 when Torv received $1.7 million as alimony for their divorce.
