These Pictures Of Season’s First Snowfall In Shimla Will Make You Want To Drop Everything And Take A Vacation

In past few days, northern parts of India has witnessed a sudden drop in temperature and presence of a constant cool breeze.

While the sudden onslaught of winters has made many people cranky, for others it’s a welcome change as it means the winter is finally here.

What many have not yet figured out is that this sudden drop in temperature is due Shimla receiving this seasons’ first heavy snowfall and the Himalayan mountains now being laden with snow.

And this onslaught of snow has blanketed the mountains with heavy snowflakes and transformed the place into a winter wonderland.

As news of the snowfall spread, Shimla, known for the imperial grandeur of its buildings that were once institutions of power when the town served as the summer capital of British India, witnessed a huge inflow of tourists.

I don’t know about you but the sight of a snowy land fills me with feelings, I can hardly put in words. There is something about snow-capped mountains that spread a white blanket around a landscape and there is something about snowflakes that transforms any place in a winter wonderland. The snowy landscape in Shimla would stay for one-two days, an official of the Met Office said.
