The Kashmir issue is back in the news and a heated debate has started on almost every news channel. This time it was fueled by Pakistani veteran cricketer Shahid Afridi who commented on the operations that Indian Army on April 2 in the Valley. The operations resulted in the killing of 12 terrorists. Afridi had raised questions on the operations.
Here is what Afridi tweeted:
Appalling and worrisome situation ongoing in the Indian Occupied Kashmir.Innocents being shot down by oppressive regime to clamp voice of self determination & independence. Wonder where is the @UN & other int bodies & why aren’t they making efforts to stop this bloodshed?Advertisement

We recently reported that Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir slammed the Pakistani cricketer with a brutally honest tweet.
Media called me for reaction on @SAfridiOfficial tweet on OUR Kashmir & @UN. What’s there to say? Afridi is only looking for @UN which in his retarded dictionary means “UNDER NINTEEN” his age bracket. Media can relax, @SAfridiOfficial is celebrating a dismissal off a no- ball!!!

And now, the God of cricket, Sachin Tendulkar has finally spoken on the matter. Asking Afridi not to interfere in the matter, Sachin said:
“We have got capable people to manage and run our country. No outsider needs to know or tell us what we need to do,”
And It was not just Sachin, but other Indian cricketers too have also spoken up against Afridi’s statement. While Suresh Raina talked about Kashmir being an integral part of India, it’s Kapil Dev who said that people like Afridi should not be given importance. Here’s what Kapil Dev said,
“Who is he? Why are we giving importance to him? We should not be giving importance to certain people.”
