Teen Discovered She Is Pregnant After Going Into Labour. She Had Flat Stomach And Regular Periods

Updated on 20 March, 2018 at 1:50 pm By

Being blessed with a child is one of the best gifts a parent can get but what if you wake up someday and realize that you are going to have a baby? Something similar happened with 21-year-old Charlotte Thompson when she was just nineteen. Charlotte never knew she was pregnant till she went into labour. There were no signs or symptoms. She was having regular periods, her stomach was flat and during the course of her pregnancy, she just gained approximately three pounds. Sounds like a nightmare, right? But, it’s a truth!

According to Daily Mail, Charlotte discovered her pregnancy when she experienced severe cramps in her stomach and vaginal bleeding. She was rushed to the hospital where she was told by the doctors that she was pregnant. She was in labour and after experiencing the pain she gave birth to a baby girl, Molly, who is two-year-old now.

Her pregnancy came as a shock to everyone as she never felt anything like being pregnant. Charlotte’s periods were regular, there was no baby bump, she barely gained weight and hence, nothing came out as a symptom of pregnancy for her. Talking about her sudden pregnancy, Charlotte said:

“My stomach was completely flat, and I’d been having regular periods so it was such a shock when I found out.I didn’t believe that I was actually pregnant until I gave birth. It was scary becoming a first-time mum with no warning. But I wouldn’t change Molly for the world, and I feel so lucky.”

Charlotte, who is a nursery nurse, blamed her social life for all the tiredness she used to feel during those nine months. When the nurses told her that she is pregnant, she lost her cool and said that there had to be some confusion as she never got any symptom or sign of pregnancy. But ten minutes later, a midwife performed an ultrasound and told Charlotte she was nine months pregnant and in labour. As per the doctors, she didn’t have a baby bump because the baby was tucked under her ribs. Recalling the same, Charlotte said:

“I panicked that I wasn’t prepared and hadn’t bought any baby clothes. I was so worried about what my parents would say when they found out that I was having a baby.”

Talking about how worried she was about her parents and their reaction, she said:

“My parents thought that I was only a few weeks along and having a miscarriage. I burst into tears when they arrived and told them I had no idea that I was pregnant. They were really supportive and excited about their first grandchild.”

Molly’s father is Charlotte’s ex who is nowhere in the picture but the mother and daughter duo is living a happy life. Charlotte says that she is too excited to tell Molly her pregnancy story and how she got her.
