Ashish Nehra made his debut in a Test match against Sri Lanka in February 1999 in Colombo. Nineteen years down the line, Nehra has finally bid goodbye after wearing his blue jersey for the last time in the India vs New Zealand first T20I at Delhi’s Feroz Shah Kotla. This journey hasn’t been really easy for Nehra. The cricketer remained injured for a large part of his career, but he never lost hope. With all his determination and hard work, he kept on coming back to the Indian Cricket Team.
When the cricketer announced his retirement in October he made this clear that he has always aimed to play in the Indian National Cricket Team and since he is taking the retirement from the team, he does not wish to play T20 matches as well. Nehra had a great contribution in many iconic victories of Team India. On this emotional moment, the cricket fraternity made sure to make the farewell special for Nehra.
Team India’s captain, Virat Kohli, and the team gave a special memento for all the contributions and efforts Nehra has made.
