The #MeToo movement gained momentum in India after Tanushree Dutta opened up about her horrific experience with Nana Patekar on the sets of Horn Ok Pleassss. Post the big revelation, many women from different parts of the country have shared their ordeal and named their sexual offenders openly. While social media is a key tool in gaining momentum by the passing day, it’s the first time someone from Tanushree’s family has commented. It’s none other Tanushree Dutta’s sister Ishita.

Surprisingly, after Tanushree leveled allegations against Nana Patekar, she had to face trolls after she attended a garba function in Mumbai recently. People thought it’s all for attention solely!

The 34-year-old actress attended a Dandiya night with her younger sister Ishita and her husband, TV actor Vatsal Sheth.

All the cameras diverted towards the actress when she arrived and it soon turned into a mob-like situation!

However, both the sisters enjoyed each other’s company the most. They kept exchanging sweet-nothings, showing their strong bond.

And now, Tanushree Dutta’s sister Ishita Dutta Sheth has finally broken her silence on her sister’s big claims, stating that she is proud of her.

Talking about Tanushree’s battle, she told a leading daily that “many women got the courage to speak up after her sister spoke up”.

She also added:

“It wasn’t easy for Tanushree to come out and revive what happened with her 10 years back.”

The sisters are seen here with their mother:

And now from the horse’s mouth itself. After getting severely trolled for attending a Dandiya function, Tanushree Dutta gave it right back to trollers. She said:
“Why expect me or anyone who has spoken out about injustice to just stay at home and sulk? I’ve never done that and never will.”

Do you agree with Tanushree Dutta’s sister Ishita’s stance? Tell us in the comments.
