Parched actress Tannishtha Chatterjee on September 28 slammed TV show Comedy Nights Bachao after the crew ‘roasted’ her for dark skin on September 27 and made fun of her on that expense.
Tannishtha, who was on the show to promote her movie ‘Parched’, took to Facebook, to express her shock and anger and said:
Within hours of expressing her anger on Facebook, the post had gone viral and received over 300 shares.
Further, her outrage was also taken up by Comedy Nights Bachao broadcasters Colors TV, who immediately apologized for what happened and responded by ensuring her that the episode when aired, would be free of offensive content.
They further added that the channel management had ‘taken this up seriously’ with the makers of Comedy Nights Bachao.
Colors also ensured Tannishtha that they were committed to “creating content that is meaningful and addresses pertinent social issues – skin colour bias being one of them.”
Thanking Colors TV for their reply, Tannishtha said that it was not about her, but about a ‘prejudice’. She then went on to add that she wished the show had made fun of her instead.
@ColorsTV thank you for reaching out. But it’s not abt me . N this is not personal . It is abt a prejudice . I wish they had made fun of meAdvertisement

Comedy Nights Bachao, which now in its second season, is fronted by comedians Krushna Abhishek and Bharti Singh. In past too the show has been criticised for crossing the line in name of comedy.
