Even as the world celebrated legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s Birthday on April 24, there was one sad yet really sweet birthday wish, that drew everyone’s attention.
The reason that this birthday wish stood out was because it was from none other than comedian Tanmay Bhat, who nearly a year back, was in the news for “insulting” Sachin with an insensitive video.
Back in May 2016, Tanmay was brutally thrashed on social media for posting a controversial Snapchat video in which he was not only impersonating and mocking Tendulkar but also the Nightengale of India, Lata Mangeshkar.
While the video had gone viral within hours, it was not for a good reason and Tanmay had received a lot of backlash for it.
The situation got so bad that at one point people from Shiv Sena and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), even sent out threats to Tanmay.
Now, almost a year later Tanmay has not only decided to say sorry to Sachin but to do so on his 44th birthday so he could express his true feelings for him and apologize for his “silly silly joke.”
