India is a land of cultural conflicts and here is an incident which proved that no two different cultures and religions can be taken to be a normal affair, especially when the religions involved are Hinduism and Islam. Recently, the Tamil Nadu Jamathul Ulema Sabha that is also known as Tamil Nadu Jama Athul Ulama Sabha, termed a marriage illegal and un-islamic. The reason was the couple that got married was that of a Muslim girl and a Hindu boy. The incident was reported from Tamil Nadu’s Thanjavur district.
The Jama Athul Ulama Sabha termed the marriage as ‘prostitution’ and illegal. Not only this, the Jama Athul Ulama Sabha also sent a letter to the father of the Muslim woman involved. The Thanjavur Jamath President P A Muhammed Ayusalih Ulavi mentioned that the marriage had damaging effects.
He stated that the marriage was damaging the Jamath’s reputation in the society and Muslims should not let such incidents to happen in the future. This is the letter in question:

Out of many states in India, Tamil Nadu is one state where there is a tradition of inter-religious marriage. While the inter-religious marriages are practiced often, this is exception where there has been an open protest from the Jamath.
In places like Meenakshipuram, people usually convert to Islam. One such example became the matter of headlines when all people from a village converted to Islam.
The state of Tamil Nadu has also witnessed people leaving Hinduism and taking up Christianity.
