Generally, female celebrities have been trolled for their dressing sense. This time Netizens were least interested in what the actress was wearing. She was trolled for an altogether different reason.
Now, let us rewind back to a few months. During Diwali, the “Naam Shabana” actress had tweeted encouraging the Supreme Court’s ban on firecrackers in some parts of the country. She had requested her fans to celebrate a cracker-free Diwali with sweets and dishes.
The moment Taapsee shared her New Year selfie, Twiterratis got to work. They took screenshots of Taapsee’s Diwali posts and started trolling her for her apparent hypocrisy. Some questioned her double standards whereas some were offended by her lack of sensitivity towards the Hindu festival and traditions. Some people even called her double-faced and accused her of supporting the fireworks.
