‘Veere Di Wedding’ has hit on the silver screen with mixed responses from the audience. While the film is said to be breaking many stereotypes through its content, there are various scenes in the movie that have been raising questions among the social media users. Well, there is a major spoiler alert ahead. The movie starring Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Shikha Talsania and Swara Bhaskar in the lead is a fresh take on women sexuality in which the Bollywood actresses openly talks about ‘female orgasms’ and other ‘sexual activities’ which are still a taboo in the Indian society. The trailer of the film has already given us a hint of that.
Apparently, Swara Bhaskar is shown as a bold woman who is comfortable talking about her husband’s sexuality and how she is not physically satisfied with him to her friends. She chooses to take the help of a ‘vibrator’ to please her self. Interestingly, this scene in the movie is very well presented, as the actress is using the toy as her husband walks in on her in the room.
Incidentally, some of the audience is considering this scene as a ‘path-breaking’ incident in Bollywood films, there is a section of audience that is mocking at Swara Bhaskar’s hypocrisy. Some time back after the release of the movie ‘Padmaavat’, the quintessential actress said that after watching the film she felt merely ‘reduce to a vagina’. Now that the actress is provocatively shown masturbating in ‘Veere Di Wedding’, people are not happy with the actress’s actions.
Netizens are brutally trolling Swara Bhaskar through their messages on social media accounts.
Take a look at some of the comments on Swara Bhaskar:
Six women naval officers circumvented the globe on a sailboat.
What is @ReallySwara‘s path breaking achievement? – Mastrubating onscreen.

Yes. Thing is indie films doesn’t receive harsh criticism compared to mainstream film containing similar sequences. Besides that the actress who enacts it happens to be the one who is the most hated. I am no fan of Swara Bhasker but shaming her or film for that scene is absurd

Well, even in the 21st century, there are so many taboos about women sexuality in the Indian society. ‘Veere Di Wedding’ tries to provide an unusual perspective about sexual needs of women. What do you think?
