The Pulwama terror attack has been widely and fiercely discussed on social media. While there are tributes, outpouring of grief and talks of revenge from the Indian side, so far the Pakistani side has remained silent on the heinous attack that killed over 42 CRPF soldiers. Now several young Pakistanis have come out on Facebook holding posters condemning the attack.
The campaign is started by Pakistani journalist Sehyr Mirza who shared a photo of herself and asked fellow Pakistanis to join #AntiHateChallenge to criticise the attack.
Several other Pakistanis also posted pictures of themselves carrying similar banners condemning the attack.
Sehyr Mirza wrote in a post on the Facebook group Aman Ki Asha:
“We’re deeply disturbed over the tragic terror attack that claimed innocent lives in India. I won’t trade humanity for patriotism.” She also said that the blood of humankind is shed irrespective of whether Indians or Pakistanis are killed.
Actor Swara Bhaskar, who is known to voice her opinions on everything from movies to social issues and political developments, soon took to Twitter and shared a collage of young Pakistanis holding placards condemning the attack.
Thank you friends from #Pakistan for this message of condolence and peace. Laudable initiative by young Pakistanis. We hear you! 🙏🏿🙏🏿❤️❤️ #Pulwama pic.twitter.com/pJIZKI2c5O

However, it seems like her message has not gone well with a certain section of social media users who mercilessly slammed her. See these reactions:
What a PATH BREAKING picture from @ReallySwara photoshop.!!

Exactly. Rather than just holding same placards to show their condemnation. And I think this farzi dikhava ends here itself as their own PM has denied taking any responsibility or shown any condemnation to the ghastly attack.

Recently, the actress got into a spat with Delhi MLA Kapil Mishra. Swara called out a derogatory comment laced with sexual innuendos. Mishra tweeted in Hindi, “Aapki ungli badi der se free hui Twitter ke liye. (It took quite a while for you fingers to find time for Twitter),” to which Bhaskar slammed him, “This pervert is an elected representative of our country. Gross (sic)!”
