Aamir Khan’s ‘P.K’ was not just a very successful film financially, it was also one of those movies that attracted a very high number of critics.
Many criticised the film for its one-sided portrayal of the faults in Hindu religion, while conveniently overlooking or undermining the faults in others.
But now comes an allegation that drags the film and Aamir Khan into a controversy of a very serious nature.
BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has alleged that Aamir Khan collaborated with the intelligence agency of Pakistan, the ISI, for the promotion of the blockbuster film.

It should be noted that ‘P.K’ earned more than Rs.7 billion at the box office, making it the highest-grossing Indian film of all time.
Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, ‘P.K’ saw a very innovative promotional campaign that helped the film better penetrate the market. The content and the controversy generated because of it helped it further.
Twitteratti mocked at Swamy’s allegations while pointing at his BJP links.

Aamir Khan ceased to be the brand ambassador of Incredible India campaign following the expiry of his contract. Many saw it as a ploy by the BJP to remove the actor following the latter’s comments on rise of intolerance in India.
But Swamy had some support too.
