Senior BJP leader, Sushil Modi, exposed another benami property of former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav’s family that has allegedly been used to amass property and money by dubious means.
The company, named Fairgrow Holding Pvt. Ltd., was incorporated on November 18, 1991 with the registered address 130/1, Bakul Bagan Road, Bhowanipur, Kolkata, West Bengal.
The company purchased a house worth Rs. 76.32 lakh in 2008 that was reflected in its balance sheet until 2011. However in 2012, the balance sheet did not show any house and instead, there was plot of the same value shown in the books.
As quoted by Daily News and Analysis, Sushil Modi while addressing media the said,
The sixth shell company is Fairgrow Holding Private Limited, which is registered at an address in Kolkata, but doesn’t exist there. The modus operandi is the same as others — the company was established by other people in 1991, bought properties and finally transferred the ownership in the name of Lalu’s children in 2014.
Modi alleges that the worth of the house must be over Rs. 10 crore now.
Modi also revealed that 8 of the registered shareholders of the company have the same address which was found as fake when investigated. Presenting the relevant documents at the news meet, the BJP leader said that the company now belongs to Tejaswi, Tej Pratap, Chanda and Ragini and does not have any shareholders.
Modi has made allegations that RJD chief, Lalu Prasad Yadav, together with his family, owns benami properties worth Rs. 1000 crore. Earlier this month, he exposed five ‘shell companies’ through which the family allegedly conducted illegal business. These names of the companie are Delight Marketing, A B Exports, A K Infosystems Pvt. Ltd., K K H Holdings and Mishail Packers.
Modi had even alleged that Lalu Prasad’s wife, Rabri Devi had got two plots in return for offering railway jobs to candidates during Lalu’s tenure as Railway Minister.
The Income Tax Department has already started a probe on some of the allegations by senior BJP leader on the RJD chief and his family.
Commenting on the investigation being carried out by the Income Tax Department, Shushil Modi says,
The law will very soon take its course against Tejashwi, Tej Pratap and all other involved in this business. It seems even Lalu is not aware of how much property he owns.
